A New Outfit: How God clothes his children

Promise of a New Outfit: 5 Ways God Clothes his Children Miranda Rejoice Blog

Last Sunday was Easter Sunday.  Every Easter per tradition, my family and I get a new outfit to wear on that day.  The new outfit is nice not just because it is new, but it is a reminder.  It is a reminder that because we believe in Jesus Christ, we have a new body (see 2 Corinthians 5).  If you believe in Jesus Christ, you will have a new body in heaven.  Not only that,  but you also get a new outfit on Earth! Love a new outfit? Read on to find out more about the one that Christ cannot wait to give you, and exactly how he clothes his children.

1. he gives you a robe of righteousness after salvation (Isaiah 61:10)

He covered me with a robe of righteousness
Covered with a Robe of Righteousness

God longs for you to trust him and put on the robe of righteousness so that you can live with him forever in heaven.

2. he covers you in armor

Put on the full armor of God so you can stand against the devil. He will give you a new outfit of armor.
Put on the Armor of God and fight against the Devil

3. You Are Clothed with a Garment of Praise

The Lord gives us a garment of praise for a spirit off heaviness. How about you give him he heaviness and accept the new outfit of praise.
Isaiah 61:3 a Garment of Praise for a Spirit of Heaviness

Let me tell you, as a girl who loves fashion and shopping Isaiah 63:1 is a verse that I can understand.  When God asked the prophet Isaiah to pen these words, he must have had all of his daughters in mind.  A garment of praise in exchange for mourning sounds amazing to me because I have battled with depression for years.  If I believe in God and trust him to know what’s best for me, I get a crown of beauty, a perfume of joy, an outfit of praise.  My new outfit  of beauty, joy, and praise will be as a medicine to my heart and mind.

4.  You are Clothed in Strength and Dignity

A garment of praise isn’t the only thing that God wants to clothe us in.  God wants to clothe you, daughter in strength and dignity so that you will not be afraid.

She is clothed with strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future
Proverbs 31:25

5. In Heaven You Will be Clothed in White

He who overcomes will be clothed in white garments
If you trust in Jesus and live your life to serve him, when you pass from here to heaven God will give you white clothes to wear as a symbol that you overcame Satan and all the temptations of the world. Share on X

If you don’t know God, I urge you to please give him a chance. Let God give you a new outfit and clothe you with righteousness, strength, dignity, and praise. Believe on him as your Lord and Savior and claim your outfit of white for all of eternity. What’s your favorite thing the Lord clothes you in? Comment below and let me hear it. God bless you!

  2. Thanks for bringing these together. Just wanted to share some info you may or may not appreciate: Garments in the bible many times represent our righteousness, such as in Isaiah 61. Paul tells us what this righteousness is in Romans: For the Torah (law of Moses) being powerless, in that it was weak through the flesh, Elohim, having sent His own Son in the likeness of flesh of sin, and concerning sin, condemned sin in the flesh, so that the righteousness of the Torah should be completed in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
    Romiyim (Romans) 8:3‭-‬4
Paul goes on in Romans 8 to talk how the Torah is unable to be completed by those who walk in the flesh, but those who walk in spirit, it is spirituality for us, making the Law of Moses both righteousness to/for us, and spirituality. furthermore, there are more than a few prophecies that tell us that it cannot ever be done away with, because it will be done in heaven: Zeḵaryah (Zechariah) 14:16‭-‬21, Yeshayah (Isaiah) 2:2‭-‬5, Miḵah (Micah) 4:1‭-‬3, and Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 31:4‭-‬10 for starters. additionally, the name “God” is found only twice in actual scripture, in Isaiah chapters 65 and 66, shown as “Gad” but since the “A” in hebrew is always pronounced “ahh”, that makes the name “g-ahh-d”, or “God.” Finally, the name Jesus (I know it’s hard to hear) is not real. I have a long paper on this to prove several ways that Jesus is not a real name, but suffice the short version to say that the “s” on the end of Jesus is a genitive grammar addition. This means that the name cannot be Jesus any more than your name can be “Miranda’s” Add to this that it’s translated through most of the bible (like the book of Joshua) as Joshua, and Jesus only appears in any manuscripts or writings after about 1500. Please email me for more information if you’d like more truth.

  4. Most grateful for this as I am studying the garments or clothing of God. May I also add the beauty of holiness (psalm 29:2, 96:9, 1 Chronicles 16:29), the beauty of perfection (psalm 50:2), the beauty (glory, splendor) of Israel (2 Samuel 1:19, the beauty of the Lord (psalm 90:17),
