6 easy ways to motivate yourself and accomplish your goals-MirandaRejoiceBlog

This month, our theme has been productivity. We’ve discussed how to set goals, why you should write your goals down, and even how to beat procrastination on the blog.

It is important to be productive and we have the tools in place to help us do that. But what happens when we lose the motivation to be productive? How can we motivate ourselves to accomplish our goals?

Here are 6 easy ways that we can motivate ourselves to do just about anything.

Easy Ways to Motivate Yourself

  1. Set Goals

Without a destination in mind, it is easy to get lost. The same goes for productivity. If you don’t know what you’re working for, it can be easy to get lost and give up.

Set goals so you know where you are heading and what you are working toward.

When we set goals for ourselves, we are more likely to work to accomplish them. Be specific in setting goals to accomplish.

2. Set a Time-Frame

Set a date that you want to accomplish your goal.

To help you remember the date, try writing it down in a calendar, putting it in a calendar app, or writing it on a sticky-note.

3. Break Your Goals Down

If you are easily overwhelmed, try breaking down your larger goals into smaller tasks. You can do this by using the promodoro technique .

4. Create a System for Yourself

I watched a great video that explained that motivation comes and goes like waves in an ocean. The author went on to explain that because our motivation wanes, we need to create a system to help keep ourselves going even when we are not motivated.

Creating a system for success will take some trial and error. However; the rewards will be worth it.

Once you have your system in place, you will be able to accomplish your goals more often.

5. Reward or Warn Yourself

Let’s face it, rewards and consequences can be big motivating factors.

When you reach a milestone, make sure to reward yourself with something that you enjoy. For instance, if you are a blogger and are not motivated to write a blog post, promise yourself your favorite snack after you complete it.

If rewarding yourself is not effective, try giving yourself a warning.

Try telling yourself that if you do not accomplish your goal within your set time-frame, you will have to do something you don’t like.

One thing you can do is tell yourself if you do not accomplish your goal, you’ll have to donate money to a charity you disagree with.

6.. Surround Yourself with Encouraging People

Surround yourself with people who are supportive and encouraging and utilize them so that you can be successful.

Share your goals with your friends, tell them your time-frame, keep them in the loop so that they can help to hold you accountable.

Conclusion

It can be hard to press on toward your goals when you lose your motivation but there are things we can do to help motivate ourselves.

We can set goals, put a time limit on ourselves, break our goals down into smaller steps, create a system, and surround ourselves with people who will help to motivate and encourage us.

Do you have a way you like to motivate yourself that wasn’t in this post? Be sure to share it with us. I am always looking for ways to motivate myself.

Making goals are easy, sticking to them is the hard part but hang in there, dear one! I know you can do this. Think of me as your personal cheerleader, cheering you on to your finish line.
