People Are Watching You
2 Corinthians 3:3
Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing the result of our ministry
among you.
This "letter" is written not with pen and ink,
but with the Spirit of the living God.
It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts.

You are a letter to God that is being read by the people around you. Your friends, your family, your coworker that you think is not even aware you exist.

They’re all busy watching you to get an idea of who God is. God’s spirit is working in you so that people can get an idea of God is.

When we honor God with our actions and our speech, we remind the world who God is and what great things he can do for them.

9 Ways to Transform Your Tongue

1. Submit to God.

James 4:7 Submit to God resist the devil and he will flee from you
Submit to God

2. Allow God to tame your tongue.

James 3:8 no one can contain the tongue it’s wild and full of poison

We cannot transform our speech, but the power of God can.  It is through Christ all things are possible (Philippians 4:13).

3. Know the Law of God.

Psalm 37:30-31 the mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom

4. Fill your heart with good things.

Luke 6:45
Matthew 12:34
Proverbs 4:23

It is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks.

Meditate on those things which are good (see Philippians 4:8)  so that you can glorify the Lord in your word and in deed (see Colossians 3:17).

5. Ask the Lord to place a guard over your mouth.

Proverbs 1:41-43
Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!

Ask God to do this, and he gladly will (Matthew 7:8)!

6. When someone insults you, commit to bless them instead.

What’s the best part about blessing someone when they insult you? If you do this, God promises to bless you for it (1 Peter 3:9).

7. Use your words to stand up for the vulnerable and those who cannot speak for themselves.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves

The Bible commands us to speak up for the vulnerable and poor. Strive to use your words to improve the situations of others.

8. Make your words count.

A person finds joy in giving an apt reply-and how good is a timely word proverbs 15:23

Make your words count as a word spoken at just the right time can make individuals happy.

The bible says that a good word is like an apple of gold on a plate of silver (see Proverbs 25:11).

Ladies, who doesn’t love gold and silver? When your husband gives you a new piece of jewelry, it makes you happy, doesn’t it?

Well, a word spoken at just the right time can give individuals that same kind of feeling.

9. Ask God to Help You Transform Your Tongue.

Let the words of my mouth and meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight oh lord my rock and my redeemer

Always pray for speech that pleases God.

Will you pray with me, friend?

Prayer

God, I ask that you place a guard over our mouths. I ask that the words of our mouth be acceptable to you. Help our words be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Give us the strength to say in secret uplifting words since they will be shouted from the rooftop. I ask that as we go about our lives and are read by those who do not know you, they will see you in us and through us and will begin to seek to know who it is you are. Please open the door for us in our daily conversations to be able to speak of you. I ask that each word that is said, will be spoken at just the right time so that it can be good for the person who hears. Thank you, father for transforming our tongues. In Jesus’ name, we ask this, Amen
