I’d like to share with you 7 steps to ignite a spiritual revival. This steps are You may be asking yourself, What is revival? Well, revival is a “restoration to life, a return to your first love, a visit from God to the church”. Revival is an integral part of a Christian’s walk with the Lord. Like David, there are times that we need to bow before God and ask him to “revive us again” so that we can “rejoice” in who he is (Psalm 85:6). With revival comes a fresh joy in our daily walk with God.

1. the first step of the 7 steps to ignite a spiritual revival is to Recognize the Need for Revival
Step number one of the 7 steps to ignite a spiritual revival is to recognize that you have a need for revival. In Psalm 85 David recognizes the need for revival throughout the land. As you read the scripture you will find that he recognizes that there is a spirit of heartache throughout the land. Like David, we must recognize that there is a need for joy that comes through revival in our spirit.
2. 7 steps to ignite a spiritual revival step #2 is to Admit the Need for Revival
We may recognize that we have a need for revival but if we continue to attempt to remain in denial and ignore that we have become spiritually stagnant then nothing will change. We must not only recognize that we have a need for revival, we must admit it to ourselves so that we can begin taking the steps necessary to make it happen.
3. step number 3 of the 7 steps to ignite a spiritual revival is to Confess the Need for Revival
Once we have recognized and admitted our need for revival, we must confess it. We see David confess to God in verse 6 that he needs revival. He asks God if he will revive them again and give them back the joy that they once experienced. If you know that you are stagnant in your walk with God, ask him to revive you. Confess your need for a fresh touch for him. He is faithful and will be glad to give you the touch that you so desperately need.
4. Employ the Means to Securing Revival
What does it mean to “employ the means” to secure revival? The answer is simple, it means to pray. This goes back to confessing. Talk to the Lord, ask him to make you ready to receive the spiritual revival that he is going to pour out on you. If you have a strong and sure relationship with Christ, revival is sure to continue.
5. Provide the Right Channel for Revival
This one may sound complicated, but it really isn’t. If you want to have revival you must provide the right atmosphere. Live right, do right, and submit to God. Doing this will allow revival to continue in your life.
6. Remove any Obstacles
OK, so you have recognized you need revival, you admitted it to yourself, and you are serving God and living right. You’ve asked him to ignite a spiritual revival in your life. You may have taken the steps necessary to experience the revival but that doesn’t mean you won’t experience some adversity from the devil himself. In fact, you may experience more adversity since you’ve committed yourself to doing what it takes to experience revival.
Strive to remove any obstacle that the devil throws your way. If time is an issue, get up earlier to spend time in the word. If your heart isn’t into building a relationship with God, pray anyway knowing your relationship is not based on how you feel but who God is. Whatever the problem may be, strive to find a solution. If you cannot find a solution, ask God to help you. He is faithful and he will help you to remove any obstacle standing in the way of your spiritual revival.
7. Enjoy the Revival
You’ve committed to utilizing the steps above to ignite a spiritual revival. If you’ve asked God believing that he will start the spiritual revival, then rest assured it will happen. It may not happen right away, but it will happen and when it does, enjoy the revival that you have worked hard for and God has blessed you with. People may try to steal the joy that results in your spiritual revival but you stand firm in your faith and cling to that joy knowing that it comes not from the circumstances that surround you but from God alone.
